The work
I held responsibility for accessibility across Oracle’s public-facing websites, working with executives, product managers, designers, developers, and QA teams.
My contribution
I tested pages against WCAG and Section 508 requirements, helped prioritize accessibility work, and coached developers through code fixes. The work included improvements to the component library, templates, and high-traffic pages.
Moving guidance into the design process
I trained and supported UX teams in using accessibility annotations and considering accessibility during design. I also trained development and QA teams in automated and manual testing.
Helping teams own the work
A key part of the role was connecting accessibility requirements with the decisions each discipline makes. That meant supporting implementation questions, explaining priorities, and building the team’s ability to identify and address barriers.
What this experience brings
Experience coordinating accessibility across a large web presence while staying close to component behavior, user experience, and implementation.
