The work
My University of Michigan work spanned mobile experiences, research administration, web directories, and file-management tools. It brought together user research, interface design, development, and collaboration across technical and business teams.
Mobile UX and research
I gathered input through surveys and interviews, developed recommendations, and designed enhancements to the Michigan mobile app. My contributions included a research-informed redesign of Student Dining and project management and UI/UX work on a Bus Map redesign showing live bus locations.
I also mentored human-computer interaction interns and helped define, assign, and test development work against approved designs.
Enterprise research systems
On the eResearch team, I developed features using JavaScript within the Click Research Support platform and collaborated on front- and back-end work. I led design and front-end coding for an eResearch dashboard and contributed to research, student administration, and identity-management systems.
Making complicated workflows clearer
My interface work on the Institutional Biosafety Committee application addressed complex relationships in research data, including transgene selections and animal-administration details. That work connected domain requirements with usable interfaces.
What this experience brings
A broad product-development foundation: listen to users, understand the workflow, work through the design, and collaborate on implementation.
