The work

At Deque, I worked directly with enterprise development teams to find and fix accessibility problems in their code. The work combined implementation, troubleshooting, client support, and teaching.

My contribution

I remediated WCAG issues, applied ARIA design patterns to complex interfaces, and helped developers understand how design and implementation choices affected accessibility. I also supported testing practices and process improvements.

Product and implementation support

I helped clients implement Deque products, including work with global corporations and federal agencies. I also turned user feedback into requirements and contributed design and front-end development to a dashboard MVP.

What this experience brings

A developer’s approach to accessibility support: investigate the behavior, work through the implementation, and explain the next step in language the team can use.
